Today was actually warmer than it has been… we suffered lows of 0* just a few short days ago! (And I must remind myself there are those who live in even COLDER spots! LOL!) It was a lovely day to take the pup out for a romp and snap a few pictures.

Thanks for taking the time to look! The first picture is of a coneflower (Echinacea) seedhead. The finches delight in eating every last seed though the fall and into early winter. Delightful to watch!

Your camera really picks up the snow crystals, amazing. What is the spiky flower plant (first pic)? We lived in Wisconsin for many years, and your images remind me of the winter gardening itch we would get once February rolled around.

Thank you! It was a nice break from seed-sowing to get out in the snow and enjoy it! (I think I enjoy it more now knowing its time is growing short…LOL!)

Beautiful pictures! I really love the coneflower and grass seedheads, and the lupine reminds me, I still need to start mine! I’m planting our native Arroyo Lupine this year, and although I’ll direct seed some, thought I’d start a few indoors, just in case the ones outside don’t make it.
